Meet the Wedding Day Dog Nanny Team

Here at WDDN, we have the most amazing, caring, dedicated team working together to care for couples' dogs at weddings,. I will introduce them all to you!

I am Sarah and I started Wedding Day Dog Nanny in 2019 caring for dogs at weddings pre and post-Covid-19 pandemic! The business started because of my three loves DOGS, WEDDINGS & CORNWALL!! during a walk one day with my husband and little chihuahua thinking of the past and not being able to have our then two dogs Golden Retriever Kaiser Chief and chihuahua Dolly with us on our wedding day .... still to this day makes me feel so sad 😞 This is the motivation I had to prevent as many couples from feeling the same and not being able to have their full family members on their wedding day, to make the process as easy and stress-free as possible and to make ever-lasting memories with their dogs at their weddings

When the clouds of the Covid-19 pandemic finally cleared, and weddings made their triumphant return, I was uncertain if my business would survive. The wedding industry was fraught with anxiety and uncertainty. But to my delight, the desire to have dogs at weddings surged, especially as many people had welcomed new four-legged family members during lockdown. This led to Wedding Day Dog Nanny being busier than ever!

Now, let me introduce you to the rest of our fantastic team

Shelley

Shelley joined Wedding Day Dog Nanny in November 2021, becoming the first addition to our team. Watching her grow during her training at real weddings was an absolute joy. Shelley exudes fun and a deep love for her job. She resides here in Cornwall with her charming 2-year-old pup named Jersey. Together, they embark on countless adventures, and their bond is undeniable. Shelley is not only professional but also kind-hearted and a bundle of joy on your wedding day. Just take a look at what some of our couples have to say about her

'We had our 10-year-old furbaby border collie at our wedding, and Shelley at the WDDN team was absolutely fantastic. From all communication before the wedding, right through to jumping across a stream to get some gorgeous photos, we felt so happy that our boy was being looked after all day, was able to attend our ceremony and also enjoy some walks and quiet time away from the crowds. Shelley is a very friendly, experienced dog handler who became not just Ozzy's friend, but ours as well and we cannot recommend the services of Wedding Day Dog Nanny enough!!'

'Shelley and the WDDN team were absolutely brilliant from the very first time I messaged them to after our wedding. We couldn't have done it without them as it turned out to be a very hot April day so having Shelley there to keep Max our labrador, cool and out of trouble was invaluable'

'Shelley was our dog nanny for our wedding day and I honestly couldn't have wished for a better carer for my dogs. She just fitted right in, nothing was a problem and she made an instant connection with my dogs. It's like they knew what a fab person she is! She took them out on some lovely walks that day and made sure they were happy and content. 100% recommend such an amazing team! Just perfect people for our perfect fur babies'

Sheridan

Next in line was Sheridan, who joined our team in early 2022. Sheridan initially booked our services for her own wedding, making her transition into our team quite unique! Outside of work, she spends quality time with her family and her two Spanish rescue dogs, Stanley and Lucy. Adopting them kindled her passion for working with dogs, leading her to become a dog trainer. Sheridan specializes in handling anxious and reactive dogs at weddings, bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge. Here's what couples had to say about her

'Adopting Stan and Lucy helped me realise my passion for training and working with dogs which has led me to my training to become a dog trainer

'When the day came around Sarah & Sheridan arrived on time to take the dogs off us and keep them entertained for the whole day. She brought our dog out for the ceremony and gave him to my mom while our in-law's dog was kept to the side with Sheridan and brought out for photos afterwards. They were walked around the grounds and fed treats and were well looked after into the evening. Both dogs were happy for the whole day and really took to Sarah 7 Sheridan'

'What a service!! I thoroughly recommend it if you are having a wedding and want your pooch to be part of your day. Sarah was fantastic from start to finish and our nanny, Sheridan was absolutely amazing. Our dog was well cared for and I had no worries about her during the day'

Sheridan is also starting her dog training business, and we wholeheartedly support her on this exciting journey

Katie

Katie, our latest addition, joined us towards the end of 2022, thanks to a recommendation from our dear friend Louise at Ausel Cakes. She's been a wonderful asset to our Wedding Day Dog Nanny team. Katie's love for dogs dates back to her early years, and she's the proud owner of three lovely lurchers: Polly, Doris, and Ted. She's trained them extensively and enjoys running with them. Katie's enthusiasm for dogs makes her the perfect fit for her dream job as a dog nanny at weddings. Her calming presence is adored by all, from the dogs and couples to venues and fellow suppliers. Check out these testimonials

'Having our dog, Archie, with us at our wedding was non-negotiable even though we weren’t entirely sure of how it would work logistically. Wedding Day Dog Nanny was exactly what we needed, we just didn’t know it!
Communication with both Sarah and Katie, who actually looked after Archie, was great. We felt so comfortable leaving Arch with Katie for the day knowing he was in great hands and it was a load off our minds. He had an awesome day and was able to be included in all of the most important bits. Thank you so much for helping all of us (including Archie!) have the best day!'

'For anyone getting married and wanting their Furbaby on your wedding day, I highly recommend Wedding Day Dog Nanny. Kate looked after our cocker spaniel, Milo on our wedding day and Kate was just absolutely amazing with Milo. Milo absolutely loved Kate. Highly recommend as Milo was still a part of our special day but was in safe hands all day. We wished we could have taken Kate home with us as she was just fabulous with Milo'

Oren, my son, is the youngest member of our team. He primarily works alongside me and Shelley. Dogs naturally gravitate towards him, finding comfort and affection in his presence. He may be a quieter member, but he's an invaluable asset to our team. But don't just take my word for it, hear what our clients have to say

'My wife and I eloped and were married at Pengersick Castle. As we were eloping, it was just the two of us, but we also wanted our dogs to be with us on the day… However, our dogs are not small teacup dogs or well-behaved stoic labradors. Instead, they are very cheeky, playful staffy crossbreeds (about 35kg each!)
We were really worried about how this would work out, but we are so so pleased we chose Wedding Day Dog Nanny. Shelley was our nanny on the day and brought Oren along with her, and they looked after our dogs brilliantly. Our dogs were taken off our hands, walked around the venue, cuddled and reassured, and Shelley even brought a squeaker that helped us get some excellent photos!
Shelley really put our dogs’ well-being first, and let me know when one of them was getting stressed so that I could help reassure her, rather than just keep her quiet and let her stress stack.
I can’t recommend Wedding Day Dog Nanny enough! Absolutely everything was perfect, and rather than just a dog nanny, it felt like we had two extra pairs of hands who wanted to help our day go perfectly. Thank you, Shelley and Oren!!'
